Currently, when you try to install a newer version of a regular package in C1 where an older version of the same package is already installed,
you normally end up with an error message that this and that type already exists.
It would be great if you could install newer versions of packages over older versions without uninstalling the latter - "upgrade" packages.
(The least feature nice to implement is to show a user-friendly message when installing a newer version instead of a long list of existing data types. The list can go to the log. The user can see something like "Please unistall the package before installing a newer version.")

Good points. Is there any documentation out there detailing what a package author should be aware of, and the practices they should follow in order to allow this?
