Depends on the site, but we've generally found this URL scheme works:
__www.site.com/products__ - Products Home page. This could be an index of all your products, a highlighted area of specials, anything that is generally about all your products.
__www.site.com/products/detail/1234/product-name__
Product Detail page
Check out naturalfactors.com or webbernaturals.com. They both have full product sections.
