I agree with janus this doesn't work.
If you follow the documentation and remove the @inherits the editor will complain about the template not being derived from RazorPageTemplate.
The screenshot in the documentation shows template deriving from CompositrC1WebPage but even that doesn't work in the latest version.
Could you post a correct example of a master layout here please?
