Purchasing the upgrade guides would be something we would be interested in. Is there any talk about the potential for this happening? From the core group we have no problem providing guidance for doing upgrades in environments where the "just install the C1 Upgrade Package" is not good enough. Basically, when you have a subscription with upgrades, we see it as our job to make sure you will get upgraded successfully. We will support you, and also try to learn from the process so things gets easier as we go forward. If environments out there can truly only be upgraded with a written guide, so be it, but that would really surprise me if we cannot automate most tasks.
So in short - if anyone are reluctant to go with a subscription, because the fully automated upgrade is not a perfect fit, I'd say; stop worrying - when you plan to upgrade, get in touch with us, describe your pain points and we will get you upgraded.
If you are reluctant due to the price tag, read on.
If not, as c2w mentioned, the C1 community is great and would hopefully provide information on upgrading manually if they have success with it. I'm curious to see where this goes.Exactly - this is after all an open source project, and when the core group abandon tasks like a public upgrade guide, it would be nice to see the community sweep in and save the day. If anyone are holding back on this, thinking we (the core group) would frown upon such an action, please know that we would love to see the community ensure C1 can be used in a true open source spirit.
