New Post: Blog rendering - editing question

Hi all,
I am fumbling through (first site i have worked on) some edits on a new site we are launching.
We have a guy building the site for us but I have been adding content etc and don't mind doing bits as i enjoy it.

We have a blog here http://niico.co.uk/cf/en/Blog

The layout is standard i guess but i find it unattractive with to much whitespace and all the gaps.
I know i can edit what's on show i.e author and tags but is it possible to have the "teaser" text at the side of the image to reduce the amount of blank space?

Also on the actual blog post itself here for example http://niico.co.uk/cf/en/Blog/2013/08/20/Tips-to-Keep-Your-Skiing-Holiday-Stress-Free

Can we have it so the Author, Tags and date are at the bottom and the social sharing buttons are at the top. Thus again getting rid of all the unnecessary white space.

I have played with the source and again understand i can add items to show or remove them but its more the actual layout i need to edit of where the items actually appear.

Probably really simple fixes but like i say i am a complete amateur.

Thanks
